Parish organizations under the Worship Board:

Bereavement Team is called when a funeral is scheduled in the parish. This group deals with all aspects of the process involved in calling on the family, planning the funeral liturgy, leading the vigil service at the funeral home and providing follow-up ministry to the family. Training is provided and there are two group meetings a year.

Centering Prayer is a form of meditative prayer. The group at GA meets in the church around the tabernacle containing the Blessed Sacrament and incorporates Lectio Divina-sacred reading. Centering meets each Tuesday evening, 6:15 p.m. in the church.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word Team brings the Word of God to children between the ages of 4 and 8 during the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass. This team proclaims the Word, leads the children in song, and discusses the readings with them while adults celebrate the Liturgy of the Word together in church.

Choir & Music Ministry supports our prayer with their talents. Cantors, Choir Members and Musicians form an integral part of our prayer. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings, Sept. through May.  The choir sings at the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass and other special occasions.

Collection Counters meet each Monday morning to count the Sunday collection.

Eucharistic Ministers distribute communion during Mass, to the homebound and local nursing homes.

Greeters welcome parishioners and visitors to our liturgical gatherings.

Intercessory Prayer holds a weekly time of prayer in the church. Prayer requests are welcome and each person and prayer request will receive special attention. The prayer ministers meet in the church on Tuesday evenings.

Lectors proclaim the Word of God during our liturgical gatherings.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) Team helps facilitate the church’s R.C.I.A. process of formation for those people who are seeking the Catholic faith. Team members help in a variety of ways by serving as Sponsors, Hospitality Ministers, Cathechists, Liturgists, and Inquiry Ministers. Since the entire parish community is considered part of the R.C.I.A. process, parishioners of all ages and walks of life are encouraged to take a more active role in this ministry.

R.C.I.A. Inquiry Team ministers to individuals when they first inquire about joining the Catholic Church. The inquiry team offers sessions in the homes of parishioners in a relaxed and casual setting. The informal nature of these gatherings makes it more comfortable for inquirers to ask basic questions about Catholic life. It is in these inquiry sessions that those exploring the Catholic faith also have the opportunity to share their stories with members of our parish community. The Inquiry stage of the catechumenate process may last a short time or a long time depending on the individual inquirer. When s(he) becomes more serious about the sacraments of initiation, s(he) enters the full R.C.I.A. process.

Sacred Heart Society is a group that commits themselves to individual prayer before the Blessed Sacrament once a week. They hold only one meeting a year.

Servers are girls and boys of the parish in sixth grade or older who assist the priest in preparation for and celebration of the Church’s liturgical rites. These rites include Masses, funerals, weddings and other special occasions.

Sunday Mass Coordinators coordinate all the last minute details for each Sunday Mass. They are also available during the liturgy to assist any of the other ministers should something unusual occur.

Ushers help seat people for the liturgy, assist with emergencies, take up the collection and direct the communion procession.
